Eeron juhla - Espichona d'Eero

At last we celebrated the big cider party (and therefore the long silence in the blog). It was a wonderful experience, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks to all of you who made the effort to come, help in any way, thanks!! really unforgettable.
It is nice that the blog has been somehow unnecessary lately since most of the readers were here with us. Much better sharing common places and experiences live, rather than through the net. Also the Finns knew a bit more about messy (but fun) partying and Asturian cider drinking habits :)
Plenty of anecdotes raised from these days to fill many conversations and laugh for years to come: Airfrance managed to lose the luggage of all the visitors, late night adventures, many sauna visits, the lively Kallio, the lovely Finns...
I've made a gallery in Flickr about the party here, which I'll keep updating as I get new photos from people. To avoid embarrassing people publicly, only those listed as my friends in Flickr can access them. If you're not in my Flickr list and want to see the photos just let me know and I'll send a guest pass so you can see them. A special mention deserve Mari, Pau and Manu, without your selflessness and help this party wouldn't have been possible or, at the very least, it wouldn't have been perfect as it was. We have an endless gratitude to the three of you. Pau and Manu are especially brave leaving their love nest to the crazy (in a good way) Asturian crowd, which they didn't know. Even from Mozambique you were at the party with us and I believe you'll be always at the heart of our Asturian friends.

Por fin cellebramos l'espichona (por eso'l llargu silenciu nel blog). Fue una esperiencia maravillosa, gracies, gracies, gracies, gracies, gracies, gracies, gracies a toos los que ficisteis l'esfuerzu de venir, echasteis un gabitu... gracies! D'alguna forma'l blog fue innecesariu estos díes porque la mayoría los llectores taben equí compartiendo llugares y esperiencies de primera mano. Cuánto meyor ye disfrutar de l'amistá y Helsinki en vivo envede por internet. Amás la xente de Finlandia pasolu teta cola fiesta desordenada y divertía, y conociendo'l mundu la sidra Asturiana. N'estos díes surxieron anéctodes asgaya pa enllenar munches conversaciones nel futuru y echar unes buenes rises: cómo Airfrance se les apañó pa perder toles maletes d'Asturies, saunes de too tipu, la nueche, l'animada vida de Kallio, los/es cariñosos/es Fineses...
Fice una galería en Flickr equí, recoyiendo les fotos de la espicha que sacó la xente. Iré actualizándola en cuantes que me lleguen más fotos. Pa evitar que naide se sienta mal agusto por tener les fotos en público, solo los que ten na mio llista d'amigos en Flickr pueden veles. Si nun tais na llista y quereis veles decímelo y mándovos un link pa que podais veles.
Agora que la mayoría sabeis d'Asturialainen Suomessa & family de primera mano, el blog garra otru sentíu. Yá nun ye namás una manera d'acercar el nuestru día a día a los que tais fuera, agora podeis rebuscar ente los posts vieyos y reconocer llugares y esperiencies. Prestaría si comentaseis no yá publicáu y qu'el blog tenga les vuestres esperiencies, un sentir de como ye esti país tan prestosu a través los vuestros güeyos. Mari, Manu y Pau merecen una mención especial. Ensin ellos esta fiesta nun saldría como salió: perfecta, igual hasta nun se llograba. Gracies pola vuestra actitú postiva y xenerosidá infinita. Especialmente admirable ye la valentía de Pau y Manu que dexaron el so ñerín d'amor a les hordes Asturianes. Aún desde Mozambique tuvisteis mui presentes na espicha y, pa mi idea, también quedais nel corazonín de tolos Asturianos que vinieron. Gracies!

After the quick trip to Asturies I had some visitors waiting in Helsinki. We went to Linnanmäki's amusement park with Marina and had a great time. I specially like the wooden roller coaster from 1951

To spend midsummer we returned to Tapola (Anne's family house). Weather wasn't very sunny but this didn't stop us for having excellent sauna and barbeque

Kiitos Cim! we received these splendid gifts of Cim from Florida. A self-made patchwork blanket, funny soft toy and natural sponges from the Gulf of Mexico. Eero is a very lucky man :)

Last weekend my parents came to meet Eero. We had a wonderful Spring weather and went for a walk in the forest and marshes around our place in Herttoniemi.
El fin de selmana pasáu vinieron los mios pás pa conocer a Eero. Tuvimos un tiempu guapísimu y salimos a pasear pol bosque y carrizales al lláu de nuestra casa'n Herttoniemi.

Heureka!

Having kids visiting is a good excuse to give yourself the treat of visiting Heureka. A science museum in Helsinki well designed for kids (and no so kids). Marina had the chance to do some space walking, visit the planetarium and give the weather forecast, among other things
Tener neños-es de visita ye una buena excusa pa regalase uno mismo con una visita a Heureka. Ye un muséu de ciencia en Helsinki bien diseñáu pa los pequeños (y non tan pequeños). Marina pudo caminar nel espaciu, visitar el planetariu y dar el parte'l tiempu, entre otres coses

We went with my parents to the shore of Lake Tuusula.We visited Ainola, the house of the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius and the impressive house-studio in Halosenniemi of the Finnish painter Pekka Halonen. After the cultural trip we had lunch at Pyysaari restaurant

Having visitors is always a good excuse to shop fresh products at Hakaniemi market square. Delicious new potatoes (boiled with dill), fresh peas (with some reindeer here), tortilla and wonderful chanterelle mushrooms. The last strawberries of the season as a dessert never fail. Äiti ja isä

In July, my parents came to visit and we decided to spend one day in Porkkalanniemi again. If you remember a previous post, this is a very interesting place.

As you see we took it easy (especially Anne)

We had a very nice day just walking about and having a laugh.
